18) Create a Customer Avatar

When creating my customer avatar for my customer segment I wanted to use real data from car owners in America. I wanted my customer avatar to be accurate of exactly who owns a car and who would more likely to use the product at the gas station.

From the data that I gathered the customer would most likely be a middle-aged white male because they make up most of the car owner population. This customer would typically drive a midsize car or an SUV due to the fact that they have children and thus must have a vehicle that can transport a family. Furthermore, the customer is most likely middle-class to upper-middle class in terms of income. The customer is most likely college-educated and has an occupation in business or the medical field. This income is the reason that they can afford to own cars. The thing that I have in common with the avatar is that I am a male. However, in other aspects such as race, age, and having children and a spouse we differ.

Here is a picture of Customer Avatar that I created using:

17) Elevator Pitch No. 2

Feedback: As someone who loves getting feedback, I received great feedback for my elevator pitch that allowed me to make this one even better. What really surprised me the most is how everyone said I did really well. One of the comments for my blog said that it was great how I engaged the audience by first asking a question to begin my pitch. In addition, the comment also discussed how I was clear about the issue at hand and did not stray off. Also, the most useful feedback that I received from the same person was that the video was dark. Furthermore, I also received good feedback from another comment. I was surprised when this individual said I gave a professional pitch that did not feel forced and that I convinced them that my product should be implemented across the nation. Overall, from both comments I got great feedback that gave me confidence in myself to deliver great pitches.

What I Changed: Based off the feedback given to me, I kept most things the same and changed very little. The individuals said I did great in delivering my pitch so the content was the same. However, a couple things I changed include the area where I presented my pitch. Instead of a bottom-up view, I moved my laptop to a different area so that it could seem like I am speaking directly to the audience. Furthermore, I made sure I had more natural light in my room so that the video would not be as dark.

Reflection On Differences

The way I see myself and how others see me is somewhat similar. However, when I hear how others describe how I believe I am it is a gratifying feeling because that means I understand who I am as a person. For example, based on my interviews I had no idea that people that I was intelligent. I always felt like I was just good at understanding the material. What I think causes these differences is what our perception of who we want to be versus who we really are. Our best friends are always around us so they can describe us better to people than we can. And if I would not make any correction to my list from part 1. I believe they are accurate based on the interviews I conducted.
